Through the Looking Glass
In Lewis Carroll’s fantasy world, nonsense seems as meaningful as the words in a whole dictionary. And who can even say what nonsense is? If we follow Alice in her journey in Through the Looking Glass, we will be convinced that the more interesting world is the world of the fantasy. And sometimes seeming nonsense is one step closer to the invention. But is that so? “If so, it could be, if not – then it is not.” This is the logic of the Through the Looking Glass. And which side of the mirror are we on?
“Twas brillig and the slithy toves
Did Gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the momeraths outgrabe”
Alice!…. And it all starts over.

About
State Puppet Theatre – Varna was founded in 1952. More than 360 productions had been staged and watched by millions of spectators in Bulgaria and abroad.
The theatre has its own building in the city centre – a valuable architectural monument that is originally adapted to the needs of a modern cultural institute. An area of 2,440 square meters accommodates a 130-seat hall, a rehearsing hall, dressing rooms, administration premises, workshops, Museum of Puppets and Summer Stage.
The current repertoire includes performances suitable for all ages: a treasury of contemporary and classical plays for children, a set of entertaining, modern, and vanguard shows for adults, such as many educational performances for students.
State Puppet Theatre – Varna is one of the most preferred participants in world cultural forums and puppet-theater festival in: Great Britain, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Algeria, Taiwan, India, Japan, China, USA, Ireland, Cuba, Canada, Mexico, South Korea….
The company has won the Great Prize “The Golden Dolphin” 6 times; not once awarded the Varna Prize for Arts and also a great number of collective and individual prizes. 2010 IKAR National Prize for Most Successful Season, 2013 IKAR Award for most successful management and marketing
